Ice Figure Skating season 2013-2014 is over, and can now be defined as particularly victorious for Risport Skates, the Rossignol Group skating brand that heirs the best skills of the Italian sports boot craftmanship. Olympic season, at its highest levels, opened with Risport athletes’ Grand Prix successes: 8 gold medals, 12 silver medals and 2 bronze medals before the Finals held in Sochi, Russia, in December, where Japanese star Mao Asada won Ladies Final Gold medal and Yulia Lipnitskaya placed 2nd , as did another Russian Risport flagbearer, Tatiana Volosozhar, Pairs’ silver (with partner Maxim Trankov), followed by bronze medals Pang and Tong, Chinese veteran champions in figure skating. European Championships, hosted in January in Budapest, Hungary, kept on giving huge satisfactions and precious metal rewards to Risporters: Russian ladies Yulia Lipnitskaya and Adelina Sotnikova placed 1st and 2nd , while Tatiana Volosozhar (1st with M. Trankov) and Vera Bazarova (3rd with Y. Larionov) succeeded for Russia and Risport in Pairs competition. Italian Ice Dancer Anna Cappellini (partnering L. Lanotte) was crowned European champion too.   The event that everyone in the figure skating world was waiting for has been the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games FS competition, in February: another winning parade for Risport athletes, gaining the Ladies gold and silver medals with Adelina Sotnikova (Russia) and Yuna Kim (South Korea), and Pairs gold with Russian serial winner Tatiana Volosozhar. Olympic Team event brought other medals: golden ones for Russia, with Risporters Tatiana Volosozhar, Ekaterina Bobrova, Dmitri Soloviev and Yulia Lipnitskaya, and silver for Team Canada member Kevin Reynolds, bringing Risport on the podium again. Six times Gold, two times Silver: Olympic Games to remember for Risport Skates. The international figure skating appointments ended with the Saitama 2014 World Championships, at the end of March: in Japan the latest Risport victories were signed by home legend Mao Asada and dance star Anna Cappellini (Italy, with Luca Lanotte), followed respectively by Russia’s promise Yulia Lipnitskaya and Canadian dancer Kaitlyn Weaver (with Andrew Poje). Two World gold medals and two silver medals to close a wonderful season, objectively dominated by Italian skating boots users in the most important Senior competitive contexts all over the world, without mentioning all the international Junior, Synchro skating and every other event victories and placements. Risport’s penchant to competitive skating, top performances and evolution to excellence are giving the Brand name, day by day, a deeper meaning of true triumph on ice.
