A bit of history…

Risport is headquartered at Rossignol Lange plant in Montebelluna, Treviso, a province of the Venetian area. The area has been home to fine shoemakers and other crafstmen since 1808.

Since then, decades of Venetian tradition influenced the aesthetic taste of our workers, shaping the unique sense of design and color, the main feature of modern Montebelluna craftwork.

The city is considered the world’s center of sports shoes: ski and snowboards boots, motorcycle boots, plus cycling, tennis and basketball shoes and ice and roller skates are all specialities of the “shoe district”.

The first handcrafted leather shoes were manufactured by our workers around early 1900. At that time, Montebelluna was home to about 200 shoemakers and their workshops.

Their products are conserved in the SHOE MUSEUM that is the cultural heart of the Montebelluna district.

The first skates were manufactured in the 1930s.

In the 1970s, the district
moved from the leather shoe to plastics, from the laces to the buckles, and then came the boom of ski boots production (Nordica, Tecnica, Caber/Rossignol, Domite).
Ice skates remained the heart of this long tradition, where style, design and detailed craftsmanship are a must, carried from one generation to the next.
It’s a “made in Italy” quality that distinguishes our products.
